THE GOLDEN GODDESS OF BURLESQUE
AQUARIUS MOON is an international award-winning performance artist, social entrepreneur and creative director. Originally from Rockville, Maryland located just outside Washington DC, this Somali-Nigerian beauty is also a published model featured in editorial magazines, digital campaigns, and lifestyle television ads. Her modeling career has extended into commercial dancing in music videos and social media. Catch her in ballroom Legend Lolita Leopard’s “Crossover” music video or Baltimore’s club queen Rye Rye’s “Move to da Beat” video. Her viral choreography has been featured on NPR, Good Morning America, and TikTok.
Along with her burgeoning dance career, she is an accomplished burlesque performer. In 2023, she earned the title of “Golden Goddess of Burlesque” by mentor Egypt Blaque Knyle, “Top Honors” crown at the Honeybee Burlesque Student Showcase and the “Breaking the Norms” award at the Golden Legends Championships. She has been as a featured performer at the 15th Annual Australia Burlesque Festival tour and is a featured entertainer in Leslie Cunningham’s Harlem in Havana documentary JIG SHOW - a multimedia take on America’s most successful Afro-Latina showgirl troupes.
In 2018, she co-founded the organic candle brand Aroma Vibes Co and in 2020 she created her own inclusive dance community the OK Moves Collective. Since its founding, OK Moves has produced dance classes for thousands of students locally and throughout the United States. Her eccentric teaching style has been featured in boutique studios across the DMV area including Equinox, Joy of Motion, 305 Fitness, Divadance, and Joe’s Movement Emporium.
Her service work includes ongoing volunteer cheer coaching at Special Olympics Montgomery County. She has led three teams to multiple state championships and the 2018 International Cheer Union’s World gold medal - this was the first time athletes with disabilities were honored on a global cheerleading platform. Owoade is also a NASM Certified personal trainer with specialities including training individuals with disabilities and women in transition. 
Owoade’s previous education work includes collaborations with the Universities Allied for Essential Medicines, American University's Center for Postsecondary Readiness & Success, The Office of Maryland Senator Cheryl Kagan, Spaces in Action, Montgomery County Commission for Children & Youth, Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities, ZERO TO THREE, DC Deputy Mayor’s Office of Education, District of Columbia Public Schools, Dallas Independent School District, Uplift Eduction, and the NAACP. She has held previous positions such as think tank blogger, community advocacy organizer, public policy fellow and public school teacher. 
Owoade graduated with a bachelors degree from the University of Maryland with with a Minor in Early Childhood Special Education and a masters degree in Education Policy from American University.
